Originally a design used to depict daily life, flowers, trees, flying birds, fish, rider elephants, gods with their various personalities-the power from Durga is reflected in the quality of the tiger’s hair in the ride.

The Sujani embroidery form, which consists of pieces of old cloth woven together, has its roots in ancient customs. For example, these old pieces of fabric stitched together were considered the most appropriate for newborn babies to be tucked inside, working for a cover purpose, or quilt. Besides, another tradition was supposed to invoke a goddess named "Chitiriya Maa, who was venerated as 'Lady of the Tatters'. From sun and cloud motifs, which symbolized forces of life, to other patterns like that of sacred animals and fertility symbols which were supposed to evoke blessings from Gods.
It is not just a work of traditional art but is often used to convey social and political messages. The surrounding narrative declares that social change is the basis and purpose of artistic renewal.
